Function knowledge of fire emergency lights

In the event of a failure of the normal lighting power supply, a type of luminaries that can usefully illuminate and display an evacuation path, or that can continue to illuminate without interruption.

Widely used in public places and places where lighting cannot be interrupted.

Emergency lights can be classified according to the working status and function.

According to the working status, it can be divided into three categories:

Continuous emergency lights.

(1)Provide continuous lighting regardless of power failure of normal lighting.

(2) Non-continuous emergency lights.

Lighting is provided only when the normal lighting power supply fails.

(3) Composite emergency lights.

More than two light sources are installed in the lamp emergency lighting fixture, at least one of which can provide illumination in case of failure of normal lighting power supply.

It can be divided into two categories by function:

Lighting lamps and lanterns.

In the event of an accident, necessary lighting can be provided to walkways, exit corridors, staircases and potential hazard areas.

Landmark lamps.

It can clearly indicate the direction of the exit and channel. There are words and illustrations on the lamp. The brightness of the sign surface is 7~10cd/m2, the stroke thickness of the text is at least 19mm, and the height is at least 150mm.

The emergency lamp consists of light source, battery (or accumulator), lamp body and electrical components, etc. The emergency lamp using fluorescent lamp and other gas discharge light source also includes a converter and its ballast device.

The battery shall be selected in accordance with the following provisions: the discharge time shall be no less than 20 minutes when using incandescent lamps, and no less than 30 minutes when using fluorescent lamps;

Nickel-cadmium battery or lead-acid battery should be used for the installation of emergency lamps with no excessive volume. Large-capacity open-mouth battery can be used for long discharge time.

Electrical components include DC and AC converters, switching switches to detect circuit performance, ballast components and so on.
